PROPHETSTOWN - After nearly 10 years of working in the office at Prophetstown Family Chiropractic and regularly seeing people in pain, Tirzah Renkes became a licensed massage therapist to try to help alleviate some of that suffering.
Small Town Massage, Hair and Care, 343 Washington St., offers a variety of massage techniques, including deep tissue, Swedish, prenatal, hot stone and trigger point. She also offers ear candling, a painless way to pull dirt and wax from the ear canal.
There's also a salon where five stylists - Tarah Pyse, Trish Gerlach, Jaimee Wolf, Heather Vahle and Tara Miller - cut, color and curl, wax and give facials.
You can get a trim, schedule a 'spa day' or anything in between.
Hours vary, but appointments can be made anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 815-718-4247. Walk-ins are welcome. You can find the salon on Facebook for more information.
