Ladies, I'm a little confused about the hairstyle the always-impeccable Julia Roberts wore at the Palm Springs International Film Festival over the weekend. Let us discuss.
It was a gorgeous updo in theory. Here's the side view.
So pretty, right? But here's the one thing: The swooping front section swept directly over Julia's right eye. We're not talking Nicole Richie eye-grazing-long-bangs here-the sort that only kinda obstruct your vision but are worth -we're talking curtain of hair completely covering that eye.
This isn't a fluke photo, either-Julia's hair curtain covered her eye this way in almost all of the shots taken at the event (and in the others, where you could see a bit of that eye, it was only because of some major head-tilting action).
Now, we happen to know from her speech at Glamour's 2010 Women of the Year Awards that Julia thinks that hair tucked behind ears never looks good. But I have to say, this is one instance where I think an ear-tuck would have helped matters. (Even our personal style rules are meant to be broken sometimes, right?)
I'm going to assume this was just a one-time instance of Julia trying something new and adventurous-we all know those things don't always pan out perfectly (especially when it comes to hair). I'm sure she'll be back to not having a hair out of place next time we see her on the red carpet.
