'I'd Like To Wear My Old Hairstyle Again': Carrie Fisher And Mark Hamill ...

Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill have both spoken out on the possibility that they could reprise their most famous roles in JJ Abrams Star Wars reboot.

The actors played the lead roles of Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker in Lucasfilm's original series and with the news that Star Trek director Abrams is taking over the franchise, fans have been calling for a revival of their characters in Episode VII.

The production is wrapped in secrecy with no cast actually confirmed. Despite the lack of official statements fans have been speculating that Mark, Carrie and Harrison Ford could all star in the film.

57-year-old Carrie has now added to the excitement by appearing to confirm that she will make an appearance. Speaking to TV Guide, Fisher said that filming is expected to kick off in March or April and she is keen to bring back that famous hair do: ''I'd like to wear my old [cinnamon buns] hairstyle again - but with white hair. I think that would be funny.''

Mark Hamill meanwhile has been keeping coy about the rumours, with the 62-year-old refusing to confirm or deny anything during a Reddit AMA session this week.

Asked about Carrie's comments, Hamill joked: 'The only character I know for sure is returning is my friend R2-D2. He hasn't stopped beeping about it.' He added later during the chat that he wasn't being deliberately evasive :

'I'm not being coy, really. When I find something out, I'll let everybody know. But nothing has been decided yet.' The actor went on to claim that he hates spoilers and wanted to keep things secret so as not to ruin the fans enjoyment. 'I'm good at keeping secrets. Especially when the goal it to maximize the enjoyment of the audience. That's why I'm worried about episode 7, they're going after casting sheets!'
