5 Ways To Wear The Wet Hair Trend Without Looking Sweaty (PHOTOS)

We never thought wet hair could look sexy until we saw Beyoncé's lustrous strands onstage at the 2014 Grammy Awards. (Well, just about everything Bey wears is sexy.)

The singer's wet, blonde bob took her scintillating performance of 'Drunk in Love' with hubby JAY Z to another level. It also reminded us of the wet hair trend that made a huge splash on the Spring 2014 runways of Gucci, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Hervé Léger.

Our wet hairdos are usually a result of being too lazy to turn on the blow dryer in the mornings or working up a sweat in spin class. And we never look quite as amazing as Beyoncé or some runway model. Instead, our limp locks make us appear extra sweaty. However, Queen Bey has inspired us to give it some serious effort.

Below are a few tips we've picked up from the pros that will help you get the perfect wet hair (no matter your hair texture or length), without looking gross.

Accentuate your natural texture by applying curl-enhancing creams to wet hair from root to tip. Beyoncé's stylist Kim Kimble used Pantene Pro-V Curly No Crunch Curls Whip on the star's hair. We also recommend Redken Curvaceous Full Swirl or Curl Quencher Hydra Fusion Intense Curl Cream. Work the product through with a wide-tooth comb, then scrunch hair with your fingers to build curl definition.

Thickening mousses like Bumble & Bumble Thickening Full Form Mousse and UNITE Session Whip will help you to create volume, or you can use a medium-size curling iron to get loose waves. Smooth on a high-shine pomade for a shellacked finish.

Try wearing your wet hair all slicked back for a masculine-inspired 'do that shows off your facial features. Swipe on a bold lipstick color or wear smokey eye makeup to add a feminine touch.

Go for a center part and dual textures (wet at the roots and wavy at the ends) for an interesting take on this trend. Just remember to keep your makeup simple and fresh.

Twist your wet hair into a pompadour updo. This edgy yet elegant hairstyle can be worn with dramatic eyeliner for a night out on the town.
