Weed bust at hair salon harvests 47 plants

By Dan Shriner Review Editor A 51-year-old Lake Orion man was arrested and arraigned for allegedly growing and selling marijuana from his home/business at 107 N. Lapeer in the village. The business is a hair salon known as Back to Beautiful and it is owned by Robert R. Weeks. Oakland County's Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) made the bust after an investigation following an anonymous tip earlier in January that Weeks was growing and selling marijuana from the business. Following an investigation, NET investigators obtained a search warrant and raided the business on January 15. They were assisted by Lake Orion police. The raid netted 47 marijuana plants, 3,775 grams of marijuana-- which is about 8 pounds--two digital scales, some documents, packaging material and a handwritten drug ledger. Weeks was arrested and lodged in the Oakland County Jail. Weeks was arraigned before Magistrate Melinda Balian on January 17 in 52-3 District Court in Rochester on two counts of manufacture and delivery of marijuana. Balian placed him on $15,000 bond on each count. Each count is punishable by up to four years in prison. Weeks' next court hearing is January 27.
