Here's a summer hairstyle idea I bet none of you have ever tried before, but will want to before Labor Day: the nautical hair knot.
It's whimsical without being overly cutesy, and it doesn't look too tedious to pull off. Here's the full how-to from hairstylist Natasha Sunshine, artistic ambassador for Pureology.
1. Dispense a quarter size amount of Pureology Cuticle Polisher and apply it evenly from mid-shaft to ends, then wind the bottom three inches of hair around a 1' curling iron, working in large sections, to add polish to the tips.
2. Have hair elastics at the ready-either clear, or ones that match your hair. Bobby pins, too. If you have thick hair like this model's, use extra-long pins.
3. Grab a front section from each side of your head, loosely twist back, and make a loose knot. Secure with a bobby pin. For thicker hair like the model's, crisscross your pins in an X for more secure hold. 4. Repeat the process by creating another loose knot below the first (see how-to photos above). Secure with bobby pins. Add a blast of Pureology Strengthening Control Zero Dulling Hairspray for a touchable hold.
What do you think of the nautical knot hairstyle idea? Would you wear it?
