Around Crofton: Local hair stylist celebrates personal care month

For Crofton natural hair stylist Ansylla Ramsey, November has become personal care month. 'I've met many women who are busy but very interested in improving their well-being,' said Ramsey, who focuses on holistic hair services. 'We share things about healthy living.'

So Ramsey created several events this month at her salon in the Crofton Shopping Centre that focus on women pampering themselves, wellness maintenance and hair loss concerns. 'My goal is to have a few experts come in and talk about ways we can maximize our health and well-being,' Ramsey said.

*One evemt, is billed as 'me time,' is from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Ramsey will have professionals on hand to provide body wraps and facials, for a fee, along with plenty of girl talk.

*Hair loss will be the topic of the free event from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 24, and it will focus primarily on women. 'Hair loss is just a huge issue that I see in the industry,' said Ramsey, who has been a natural hair care stylist for 14 years.

'So many women experience this and believe the cause is products they are or aren't using when really it could be internal,' she added. Ramsey will offer a free analysis to assess likely hair loss factors.
