When it comes to hair, black people can be ruthless, cruel, even bloodthirsty - especially when it comes to an African American female. Actress Tamera Mowry just found this out.
Most remember the fools that black Twitter made of itself when it trained its verbal gun sights on a few loose strands of hair on Gabrielle 'Gabby' Douglas hair, all while the rest of the world focused on her history-making, barrier-breaking gymnastic exploits at the London Olympics in 2012. And we won't even get into the tragedy of grown people ripping a toddler, Beyonce's daughter, because they let her hair grow out uninhibited.
Tamera Mowry-Housely is the latest to be put on the cultural barbeque grill by her so-called fans. They practically lost their minds because she is flossing her kinky curly natural hair. 'The Real' co-host debuted her natural hair on a a recent episode and said had to slice off several inches due to damage.
'I have naturally curly hair, but throughout the years I always straightened it, I blew-dry it, I put a hot comb to it,' Mowry-Housely testified before a TV audience. 'And I went through this really, really rough stage, rough patch of my hair that I had to do the big chop. Which is basically chopping all of your damaged hair off and starting anew. So, I was a little nervous, because not many people are used to seeing me like this. This is me, this is who I am truly.'
Fans of 'The Real' don't care if that is truly who she is. They hated it. Personally, I think she looked good, but for the scores of fans out there on social media, they tore into her like a bleeding zebra at a lion convention.
Take a look at the heartlessness personified on the talk about Mowry-Housely's natural hair, even though a few social media followers got her back and thought her hairstyle is cute.
