Long-time cosmetology professional Cindy Kuepers had opened her own shop, Beauty Secrets, on Lindbergh Drive in Little Falls. Located next to the Royal Cafe, Kuepers said it was time to venture out and be on her own.

'I worked with Janet Kieffer for more than 13 years at Head First in Little Falls,' she said. 'I wouldn't be where I am today without Janet.'

Kuepers also worked with Hair Design Ltd. for more than six years and Annie's Ultra Touch for three years, both in Little Falls. Until now, she was renting booths. Today she is looking for stylists to rent from her.

'I would like to add maybe two renters for full-time pedicures and manicures. I want to help them and help my business grow,' she said.

Kuepers attended school at the Model College of Hair Design in St. Cloud in 1990, learning the basics before landing the job at Head First. There she learned about the entire spectrum of cosmetology, touching on hair, skin and nails.

At Head First, she expanded her knowledge with manicures, pedicures, highlighting, different permanent and tri-color techniques. Kuepers continues to take classes on new techniques for both hair and nails.

In 2013, Kuepers started looking for the perfect building for her new business, Beauty Secrets. The owner liked her ideas for remodeling and she moved in during March.

Kuepers enlisted the help of her husband, Marc, and father-in-law, Charlie, to help with the remodeling. A friend, Bob Clear, along with brothers, sisters and other friends, stepped up to help. They all pitched in to refurbish what was once an automotive garage.

'I feel as if I created a fun, new atmosphere,' she said. 'I'm excited that my clients get to share in this and excited to meet new people.'

Kuepers said she loves to pamper people and make them feel good about themselves and their look.

Beauty Secrets sells Redkin and Rusk products. Along with the care of hair, skin and nails, the business also offers purses, jewelry, bling flop flops, greeting cards, scarves, shawlettes and more. Kuepers uses pastels to brighten the interior and lots of bling to catch one's eye. The salon has lots to see and is full of fun.

Services include pedicures, manicures, artistic nails and gel polish, all cuts, coloring, permanents, waves and highlights. Kuepers does up-dos and waxings, too.

Kuepers and Marc live on a hobby farm near Upsala. In their spare time, the love to ride horses and go camping with family and friends. They own a miniature donkey and a horse, as well as cats and dogs.

Beauty Secrets will have its grand opening Thursday, July 10. Brats, snacks and punch will be offered, along with door prizes and special sales on hair products, jewelry and flip flops.
