1 dead after vehicle crashes into hair salon in Jefferson Township

One person was killed Friday after a vehicle crashed through the exterior wall of a western Pennsylvania hair salon.


The vehicle hit Scissor Heaven, a hairstyling and tanning business in the tiny village of Cabot in Jefferson Township, Butler County, about 11:30 a.m.PHOTOS: SUV crashes into hair salonState police said the victim was sitting inside the salon waiting for an appointment when the SUV crashed through the wall behind her. The woman was pinned underneath the vehicle and died. She has been identified as Janet Huth, 67, of Cabot.VIDEO: Watch Sheldon Ingram's reportRev. Mark Pattock of St. Joseph Church said Huth was a member of his parish.'We were actually passing by in a funeral procession and we saw the accident and found out later who it was,' he said. 'We're here to give consolation to the ones that we love, especially when tragedies like this happen. You want to be there for the people that you care about.'


Police said the 74-year-old driver had just arrived for an appointment when the SUV crashed through the business. They continue to investigate and have not yet filed any charges.
