Hair loss needn't be a burden any more if you treat it with some easy and simple tips.

With the trend for big locks, hair loss is a bigger issue than ever and it can leave sufferers feeling insecure about going out in public. If you're worried about your locks thinning or bare patches on your scalp, then look no further than here for some advice on how to boost your hair growth and thickness. There's a simple move you can carry out to see if you have a problem, simply referred to as the 'tug test'. Holding a small bunch of around 20-30 hairs give them a gentle but firm pull between your thumb and index finger. It may be difficult to count, but if around six or more hairs come loose after this, you're more than likely to have an issue with your locks. If the loss is dramatic and rapid, it's best you see a doctor for a diagnosis before jumping into anything. They can provide you with the right medicines if it turns out you have a condition - don't try and treat something unknown without getting advice first. If it isn't anything serious, then there are adjustments you can make to your lifestyle which may well improve your hair.A leading cause of this concern is stress, so tackling the source of any emotional problems and addressing them is a great place to begin. It's as simple as working a way around your issues and getting a good night's sleep to get your hair back to full strength. Working out reduces stress, and followed by a hot bath, it's virtually impossible to still feel as anxious as you did before.Your diet also has a big effect on the strength and depth of your hair. Iron is known for boosting growth and can be found in foods from baked beans to - you'll be happy to hear - dark chocolate. A chunk of good quality choc a day could improve your hair growth. Protein is another nutrient which will help, and is found in foods such as fish, cheese and nuts and seeds.Treat your hair to some rich masks as well, to stimulate growth and reduce loss. Try leaving two bags of green tea in a cup of water, letting it cool slightly then pouring it over your hair. You can leave your locks damp for around an hour before rinsing out. The antioxidants in tea can prevent strands coming loose and will also give your hair a boost.Hot oils also moisturise and strengthen strands and you can use any natural options, such as olive or safflower. Heat it up so it is warm, but not so hot that it will burn your scalp, then apply it to your head and massage your roots thoroughly. To stop it from dripping, you can wear a shower cap, which will also give a more intense treatment. You don't have to follow these methods every day, but giving them a go regularly could see your thinning hair turn into the thickest it's ever been. © Cover Media Group 2014 Back
