SOMERSET - A shooting inside a hair salon in Franklin Township has taken the life of a North Brunswick-based rapper.
Eric Andrews, better known by his stage name E-9, was shot and killed at Nu Trendz Hair Studio in Somerset. His name comes from his home being just off exit 9 on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Andrews was part of an up-and-coming rap group with fellow rapper George Opoku, also known as 6FO. The duo was scheduled to perform at the well-known SOB's in New York on Tuesday and have worked with some popular acts.

Although police have not released any other details, a friend of Andrews told News 12 that he was shot as the result of an argument.
Andrews' partner 6FO says he knew him since the sixth grade and that it now feels like a part of his family has been taken.
