So Tai, why does the winter make styling so much more difficult? The winter months, when the weather is blustery, windy, snowy, rainy and icy -- sometimes all at once, can cause hair to be very brittle and dry. So it is extremely important to take extra measures to ensure your hair is protected and moisturized appropriately throughout the season. It can seem daunting, but Target has great products that will help treat your hair and get you through the season healthy and beautiful.

What tips do you recommend to keep hair frizz-free?Whether your hair is relaxed, natural, or color-treated, I recommend using a leave-in conditioner, like Mixed Chicks' Leave-In Conditioner ($20). This product is light enough that it won't weigh down your hair or interfere with your styling products. I also like the idea of using a T-shirt to dry your hair after washing instead of a terry cloth towel. Since the cotton fabric of a T-shirt is smooth and untextured, it will help dry your hair without creating frizz. How can we keep curls in tip-top curveaous shape? The key for curls as well as textured hair is to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! There are several things that you can incorporate in addition to your leave-in conditioners to keep hair hydrated. For textures that are very dry, like kinkier and coarser textures, you can add olive oil or coconut oil . Both are really great for sealing the ends of your tresses. And for my ladies who love to straighten their curls, it's important to practice wash-and-wear styling at least 2-3 days before heat styling. I also like using Shea Moisture Raw Shea Restorative Hair Conditioner ($10) for an overnight conditioning treatment. Apply and then cover with a plastic cap while you sleep. It's also important to use a heat protectant like Hair Rules Blow It All Out ($8) before straightening. It's conditioning and will make it easier to straighten and soften hair. Are there any holiday party trends we can use to keep hair looking fabulous? For holiday styles, I'm particularly fond of creating volume and playing with texture. While up-dos and chignons are pretty and a holiday go-to, I like the idea of adding braids, waves, and even soft crimps and then creating an up-do. The holidays are also the perfect time to play with hair accessories including headbands, bedazzled hair clips, and even feathers. If you want to be especially creative, you can use jewelry (including broaches and necklaces) to create your own unique hair accessories. Another great way to incorporate fashion into your hairstyling is to use vibrant-colored silk or velvet ribbon into braids or to wrap around your ponytail holder. What's your favorite holiday look for hair? Any favorite hair care products?

I like playing with volume and texture or low side parts. Most hair textures, whether relaxed or natural can create a style that is sexy, sophisticated and statement-making, playing with volume and/or by adding a side part. I like Hair Rules Volumizing Hair Spray for creating volume. It has great hold, but without a lot of weight and build up.

Any celebrities that we should look to for hair inspiration? What makes their look so covetable?

I really like Tia Mowry's look right now. As we know quite a few Hollywood women have recently opted for pixie haircuts. And I think she looks beautiful and her hair looks extremely healthy, which is the goal for all women. I also love Ledisi's look. She's worn locs for many years and over the years she's experimented with color and various styles from up-dos, to faux-hawks to cascading tendrils. I think she is an example of how versatile braids and locs can be. Beyonce is another favorite because she really uses her hair as a form of creative expression and personal style. From the longer look achieved by hair-textured extensions to the wavy bob and also the pixie. Janelle Monae is another fave. She wears her hair natural and really embraces her texture with her signature pompadour inspired look.Additional tips and tricks? For dreaded flyaways, Camille Rose's Almond Jai Twisting Butter ($17) is great because you can apply it to the hairline for a sleek look that also has shine. For kinky/curly and wavy textures, it also creates texture with extra definition. Additionally, an old school trick is to apply gel with a toothbrush to grasp specific hair strands. For more tips, visit abullseyeview.com to see Tai provide tips on how to look your best during the holiday season.
