We love a beauty expert that can hit us with a few great must-know tips and stylist Kyle White is definitely that guy. The hair care guru's tips on how to keep gray hair away went over so well, that we decided to tap him one more time for extra advice on how to keep color-treated hair looking its best. Color fading is also a major bad-hair-day culprit between salon visits. White instructs us to return richness to faded color with an at-home gloss:
'Color-specific glosses, like John Frieda's DIY options ($27) , add warmth and tone down brassiness,' he said. 'They even come in color specific shades - blondes, brunettes and red heads - to make it easy-breezy.' 'Clear Glazes, like Oscar Blandi's ($10), are great shine boosters that won't change your color. Sometimes a dose of shine is all that's needed to liven up a color look.'
Dull, dry locks drag down color. Return the radiance with these at home maintenance tips straight from Kyle:
'Clarify and remove product buildup by crushing an aspirin and mixing it into shampoo,' White explained. 'The salicylic acid will open the cuticle, extract the buildup, open hair follicles, and remove dead skin cells from the scalp.' 'Add moisture back into hair by heating up a tablespoon of Coconut Oil in the microwave, then run it through the ends of hair. Leave on for at least 15 minutes and shampoo out,' Kyle told us. 'Coconut Oil is one of the most moisturizing oils, plus the scent will transport you to a sunny tropical beach... if only for a moment!'
We have to agree that coconut oil is king! Loving any of these must have tips to keep your hair bold and beautiful? Let us know with a note below!
