Press Release

Whether you're looking for a classic pompadour or a fashion forward balayage, newly opened Logan Parlor, 3251 W. Fullerton Ave., is a hair styling oasis that will meet your fashion needs while offering welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Long time Logan Square dwellers Jamie DiGrazia and her fiancé and business partner, Tricia Serpe, are very dedicated to their community; so, it was only natural to open up a salon within the Logan Square neighborhood. Logan Parlor, which opened in the summer, is a four-chair boutique salon that provides their guests with the royal treatment in a cozy neighborhood atmosphere. They encourage their guests to stop in any time, grab a seat at the bar, read the paper and enjoy a complimentary cup of locally roasted Café Yo coffee.

The motif of the salon is reminiscent of a Victorian parlor with an environmentally conscious twist. It showcases eco-cork flooring, antique salon furniture, and hand made wooden styling stations, built with local reclaimed White Ash wood. The building, believed to be an old industrial cleaning and dying factory, exhibits exposed brick walls, 16ft ceilings and an industrial elevator shaft turned restroom. The interior is decorated with artwork created by local artists and frequently updated so there are always new creations awaiting your return. A custom built wooden shelving unit, designed by friend, Kaisa Dille serves double duty as retail shelving and a plant display which provides an excellent source of natural air purification.

Jamie has customer service and satisfaction in her blood as she comes from a family of bar and restaurant owners. However, she developed an interest in hair styling at an early age while watching her aunt Kerry cut and style hair from her in home salon. Bartending her way through beauty school, Jamie dreamed of one day opening a salon combining her two passions and calling it, Salon Saloon - a salon by day and bar by night. Ten years later, after working at various salons and becoming a Redken Certified Hair Colorist at the Exchange in NYC, Jamie realized her ideal salon environment didn't exist. So, Tricia set out to help her create the closest thing to it as possible.

With a background in business management and going on 10 years of experience working in a design studio, Tricia used her creative planning and design talents to develop the ideal space and experience for the salon. Jamie and Tricia spent months mapping out the flow of the salon, starting at the bar waiting area, moving on to the cozy shampoo room and ultimately leading to the stylist chair; the location where the true magic of the Logan Parlor experience is unveiled.

The supportive community of Logan Square continues to be Jamie and Tricia's inspiration. Keep your eyes peeled for their grass roots efforts to reach out to their community, including Complimentary Beard, Bang and Neck trims at the Logan Square Farmers Market, or Community Classes including B.Y.O.B (Bring Your Own Blow Dryer).

So if you're in the neighborhood drop in, expect to be greeted by two friendly toy poodles and local stylists focused on providing professional, artistic hairstyling at affordable prices.
