SYLVANIA -- The co-founder of hair-care brand Paul Mitchell helped open their newest cosmetology school in Sylvania.


John Paul Mitchell Systems CEO, John Paul DeJoria, joined a fashionable crowd of hundreds on Monday, to cut the red ribbon at the grand opening of Paul Mitchell The School Toledo.


The 13,000 square-foot building features state-of-the-art resources that will helptrain up to 250 students at a time. DeJoria said the aggressive educational and cultural development program is designed to help students become innovators and community leaders.


'We not only develop career-minded people, but this school develops people that have a good consciousness about them and make the world a better place to live,' said DeJoria. He added, 'Someone that's thinking of looking for a career that dealt with beauty, expression creativity, they should at least take a few minutes and come down and check this out.'


School owner Linda August was also on-hand to welcome students and leaders in the Sylvania community.
