ASOS' Plus

The world is full of selfies of beautiful women, and ASOS figures some of those women might make good models. The fast fashion retailer just launched a new Instagram model competition to find a plus-size spokesperson for their ASOS Curve line, and it's going so well they've already received a staggering 2,000 applications in the first 10 days of the competition.

The winner receives a modeling contract with Models 1, a photoshoot for ASOS Curve, and 500 pounds, or $842, in ASOS gift certificates. (Considering the last time I ordered from ASOS I got a pair of pants and four shirts for under $100, $840 in ASOS dollars is probably enough to set a person up for several years.)

That's last year's winner, Simone Charles, pictured above from her modeling portfolio with Models 1. (Models 1 is the agency that represents Linda Evangelista, so you know it's the real deal. Winning the competition would probably be worth it just to be able to say you have the same modeling agent as Linda Evangelista. Or maybe you'd get to meet her, which would be even cooler.)

Interestingly, Models 1 notes that its plus-size division is one of the most in-demand divisions at its company.

'There has never been a better time to be a curvy model. Demand for our curvy girls just keeps growing and it is not just the size 12, 14 and 16s that in are in demand, brands are looking for size 18 and 20 curves,' the company said.

Winning would be pretty sweet, and all you have to do is be a really, really beautiful, plus-size British woman like Simone Charles, then send a selfie to the company with the hashtag #MakeMeACurveModel.

If you are one of the few young women alive who does not already know how to take a really good selfie, Models 1 also offers some tips for 'the perfect selfie':

Don't wear lots of makeup; natural is best. Don't pose too much. Leave hair as natural as possible but away from your face. Don't wear hats or sunglasses. Don't use editing software/filters. #nofilter.

Those are some confusing tips. What does 'don't pose too much' mean? And the 'don't wear lots of makeup' tip reminds us of every dude who has ever said they liked us best without makeup, and then said, 'See? Look how much prettier you look!' when they saw us in 'natural' makeup.

Maybe it would be better to just go to the master and follow Kim Kardashian's advice on how to take the perfect selfie.
