Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine ditched his darker locks in favor of a shocking new hairstyle, E! News reported.
The 35-year-old singer and 'The Voice' coach showed off his new bleached blonde hair with a photo on Twitter over the weekend, which he captioned, 'Apocalypse prep course complete.' Also in the photo was Levine's fiancée Behati Prinsloo, who can be seen peering over his shoulder.
The musician's new hairstyle is a stark contrast to his usually brunette locks. However, Levine is no stranger to changing his coif, following a half-shaved rocker hair he debuted at 'The Voice' season 6 private concert in Los Angeles.
Levine's stylist Shaul Arbiv, who owns Shampoo on 3rd Salon in Los Angeles, said the singer was wanted to do something new in time for the changing season.
'With summer months coming up, we wanted to do something totally drastic and different from his previous styles so we bleached it,' said Arbiv, according to People magazine. 'I have been working with Adam for a long time and he likes to change up his style often.'
Levine has also been known for sporting jet-black hair and his many tattoos, and his overall look got him named by readers of People magazine as the 'Sexiest Man Alive' for 2013.
Several fans tweeted the rocker what they thought of his new hair, which Levine answered in his signature blunt way.
'I hope people understand that when they say my hair looks creepy I take that as the highest compliment,' Levine posted on Twitter.
Levine is not the only star to sport platinum blonde hair. Actor Ryan Gosling bleached his hair several years back for the role of an edgy stunt performer in the drama 'The Place beyond the Pines.'
Rutger Hauer also sported platinum blonde hair for his role as on-screen villain Roy Batty in Ridley Scotts' eighties science fiction classic 'Blade Runner,' according to Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Levine had just gotten off the promotions for his debut film role in 'Begin Again.' The music-centered drama movie, which premiered in New York last week, also stars Mark Ruffalo, Keira Knightley, Hailee Steinfeld and Mos Def.
