He raised eyebrows in September of last year when he stepped out with a head of full glossy brown hair, just weeks after being seen with greyer hair.

But it seems Nicolas Cage has decided to grow old gracefully once again as he was spotted filming with a full head of grey hair in Romania on Wednesday.

Embracing his inner silver fox the 50-year-old was seen getting to work on his latest movie - The Dying Of The Light in Bucharest.

The Face Off actor wrapped up against the chill in the European air by wearing a hooded black coat as he made his way back to the trailer.

The film, which is being directed by Paul Schrader, sees Nicolas play a CIA agent who begins to go blind while on his last-ever assignment.

It also stars Anton Yelchin, David Lipper and Irene Jacob.

Over the years Nicolas has sported a number of different hair shades and when he started his career he had a distinct light brown hair colour.

Meanwhile Variety reports that the actor was in talks to star in crime thriller Men With No Fear.

It is expected to be directed by Spain's Paco Cabezas and he will be using his own script, while Bryan Singer and Jason Taylor are producing.
