For the last few years the attention to African-American haircare has risen and made it a highly profitable industry.
With billions of dollars spent yearly on everything from natural hair products to weaves and extensions, recent peaks in Black haircare profits can be largely attributed to an increase in Black owned haircare companies.
With a variety of hair textures and tons of problems that possibly come with each texture or hair type, who knows more about our hair better than we do? Often developing out of a necessity, Black owned haircare companies provide a solution to haircare problems not found in commercial hair companies, that later get copied.
