Model Jerry Hall has ditched her famous long, blonde waves for a new shorter look.


Hall, who has had the same hairstyle for 40 years, broke the news of her new haircut to fans via Twitter on Wednesday.

Hall's Twitter followers were quick to approve of the shorter hairstyle, saying it looked 'beautiful', 'gorgeous', and that it makes her look years younger.


The 57-year-old supermodel apparently decided to cut her hair on an impulse at a hair makeover photo shoot.


French actress and model Loan Chabanol also had a restyle at the L'Oreal shoot, and posted a photo on Instagram of herself and 'the legendary Jerry Hall' showing off their new looks.


Hall has said in the past that all the girls in her family - including her mother - were mad about glamour; 'I styled myself on Veronica Lake and Marlene Dietrich.'


Bye-bye Veronica Lake, and hello to what could become the haircut of the season.
