The event, in aid of The Foundation of AIDS research, is the official start of New York Fashion Week.
Brunette beauty Lily Aldridge led the way in a show-stopping sweeping white strapless gown, which she teamed with gold jewellery and a chic up 'do.

Each year the event presents an Award of Courage to individuals who make exceptionally important contributions to amfAR and the fight against aids - this year's honourees included fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, Vanessa Redgrave and Joely Richardson.
