In case you missed my post last week in defense of ombre hair, I remain a fan of the trend, when well-executed. And here's one ombre update that I really love for summer 2014: Instead of the focus being on way-dark roots, make it all about really bright blond ends (with the rest of the head a gradual golden fade). Almost like your hair was dip-dyed blond.
Lauren Conrad's current hair color is the perfect example; here's a photo her hairstylist Kristin Ess just posted.
Khloe Kardashian too. She just updated her color this week with lightened ends.
Even in that photo of Sarah Jessica Parker I recently obsessed over, you can see what I'm talking about.
Newly blond Sarah Hyland has it going on too.
This is a low-risk way to experiment with pale blond hair color, with no worries about roots growing in, or overbleaching your hair to brittleness, and all that fun stuff. I have some pale-blond sections at the tips of my hair right now (here are before-and-after photos of my latest hair color), and I love them-especially when I wear a braid and bright streaks zigzag through the bottom.
