Blogger Chiara Ferragni models for Redken.
Want to walk the line between fancy and laid-back? Then follow our lead.
One of the best things about a half-up-half-down do is that it's neither too formal nor too casual.
This look, courtesy of Redken and its global ambassador, blogger Chiara Ferragni, is polished without being overly 'done'.
To create, first prep your hair with Redken's new Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer, $36, and apply volumising mousse. Then:
1. Comb hair into its natural position and blow-dry the root area with a paddle brush.
2. Divide the hair into two sections: top and bottom. Add a finishing spray and then comb out with a wide-tooth comb.
3. Divide the hair into four quadrants. To separate the left and right sections, create a centre part from the front hairline that continues to the back of the hairline. Then split each of these sections again from the high point of the head to the back of the ear.
4. Combine the two back quadrants and tie off into a ponytail. To create a loose bun, twist and wrap the ponytail. Pin in place.
5. Take random pieces from the front quadrants and pin them into the bun to create a draping effect. To give more of a dishevelled look, pull out additional random pieces throughout the head.
6. Finish off with a blast of texturising spray-wax.

WE LOVE
When Trilogy launched, rosehip oil wasn't the ubiquitous 'solve it' beauty balm it is today. Now, you can't really call yourself a natural brand unless you have at least one product that features it.
Recently, though, Trilogy upgraded its original Vital Moisturising Cream, $49.90, swapping out the traditional rosehip formula for the super-charged Rosapene, a trademarked ingredient that combines the seed oil with a blend of antioxidants (including tomato, acai and cranberry seed oils, plus a soothing oat extract). Great for dry skin.
FEELING FLUSH
Who isn't fond of products that multi-task? Time-savers like Benefit's Lolli-Tint, $57, are great to keep in your handbag, serving as both lip stain and blush. The tint takes a little getting used to - the gel-like formula comes with an applicator that makes it appear (at first glance) a bit like watery nail enamel.
Just brush three streaks of the liquidly colour onto the high points of your cheekbones and then dab in with your fingertips. The overall effect is very natural (so won't suit if you like your makeup looking super polished), but it does provide a very youthful-looking sheer pop of colour.
