Michael Steach, 7/8 grade science teacher keeps his word after last year's 8th grade class beat the state average on the science portion of the TCAP test. (Georgia Gilley photo)

According to Steach, this year's freshmen class scored in the 58th percentile, beating the state's average of 52 percent.

Steach's challenge had a unique reward for the class and a less-than-desirable outcome for him. A Mohawk, - a pink one.
