Hairdresser Jess Lyon on stage at the TIGI Inspirational Youth event as part of Salon International at the London ExCel centre


A hairdresser has been demonstrating her talents in front of a 1,000-strong audience from around the globe.


Jess Lyon from Rawdon-based Yazz Number One Hair Studio has just returned from a TIGI Inspirational Youth event as part of Salon International, at the London exhibition centre ExCel.


Jess was one of a team from around the country chosen for an intense training programme including not only hairdressing, but also presentation skills, photographic session styling and model casting - and ending with a hair and fashion show.


She said: 'I have learnt so much and am taking back to Yazz a wealth of knowledge and experience and a strengthened passion for hairdressing.'
