This season's easiest hair trend; even YOU can pull it off 2:09PM

The bob is back for AW14; and we've found (with a little help from one of our favourite stylists) the perfect way to wear it, whatever your look. With Jourdan Dunn, Sienna Miller, Caroline Flack and Kate Mara all working long choppy bobs with aplomb, there's no shortage of celebrity inspiration for the trend, but will it work on you?

We quizzed George Northwood, UK Pureology Ambassador - and stylist to likes of Alexa Chung (yep, he's good) - about the trend, and how to make it your own.

GLAMOUR: Does this cut work on everyone?

GEORGE: Everyone can work a bob! It's a fresh modern style that can be styled easily and worn blunt or soft. If you have a rounder face, keep some length and go for a longer lob to flatter the face.

GLAMOUR: Is it an easy look to style?

GEORGE: Once you've got the hang of it, a bob can be so easy to style but the right products are crucial. Spray Redken Quick Tease to roots to add instant body and sexiness. Rub Powder Grip into lengths and ends to rough it up a bit.

GLAMOUR: What's the best way to wear it?

GEORGE: Bobs are very versatile. You can go 'undone' or sleek and sophisticated depending on the occasion. I love a messy bob and for this I'd say to invest in a good pair of tongs. Loosely tong random strands, separating roughly with fingers and finish with Quick Tease for a textured wavy bob that will last.

GLAMOUR: Obviously you've done this look on Alexa before; what's the favourite look you've done for her?

GEORGE: Alexa champions the messy bob! My favourite look on her was when we went for a jaw length bob with no fringe.

And it wouldn't be fair if we told you to take the plunge without trying it ourselves, so here's what happened when we let George loose on our locks... (New-hair-mirror-selfie mandatory, naturally.)
