When Lauren Conrad debuts a new mane change on Instagram, we usually proceed with caution. The designer has a history of playing pranks on her social media followers - like that time she 'went purple.' But we think her new switch-up might be the real deal. Her latest photo shows the star super blonde, and it definitely suits her.

'Things are getting real blonde around here...,' she captioned the above selfie, debuting a brighter, borderline platinum hue. Judging by the photo, it looks like Conrad went for allover heavy blonde highlights, and is stepping away from her warmer ombré shade.
Perhaps she's going for a brighter blonde look for her upcoming wedding, à la Jessica Simpson? Or maybe she's just having some fun with her locks before the big day? We can definitely expect some variation on her sunkissed strands for her nuptials - after all, as she recently told PEOPLE, 'I always return to blonde. I feel most me when I'm blonde.'

The reality star celebrated her bachelorette party in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico last month, so her wedding to law student William Tell can't be too far off. But a last-minute hair change is the only thing Conrad is doing that could be considered 'crazy' as far as wedding planning goes - she's not going Bridezilla or putting herself on a strict wedding weight loss regimen.
'I really love food ... I'm not good at dieting,' she told PEOPLE recently. 'I try to make smart choices, but just eat a little bit less.' And her exercise mantra is just as low-key. 'I just like getting out, like going on a hike, going on the kayaks, going for a run on the beach,' she shared.
