NEW YORK -- Backstage at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was buzzing with Pittsburgh connections Saturday night, thanks to Philip Pelusi (pictured above doing an interview) and his team of stylists.
Mr. Pelusi, a native of Bloomfield who has hair salons in Pittsburgh and New York, was on the scene to style hair for the Venexiana runway show. With him was a team of stylists from his salons, some of whom work in Pittsburgh.
For Venexiana's signature glamour-girl-with-some-edge style of gowns, Mr. Pelusi planned a braided updo incorporating synthetic hair and rhinestoned hair clips. He dubbed the style 'the coquette,' he said, and used styling agents from his product lines to complete the look.
Mr. Pelusi has collaborated with Venexiana designer Kati Stern for several seasons, and his styles are key in helping the vision for the collection come to life, Ms. Stern told media.
