American Apparel, the retailer where I buy all of the yoga pants I use as regular pants (to the chagrin of others), has revealed their newest lingerie model, 62-year-old Jacky O'Shaughnessy. You may recognize O'Shaughnessy from previous AA ad campaigns, but this is the first time she has posed for advertisements that don't feature her fully clothed. The above photo appeared on the brand's official Facebook page this week with the tagline 'sexy has no expiration date,' and looking at O'Shaughnessy, you have to agree that it's true. Have you ever seen more gorgeous hair or amazing smize? (Tyra would be so proud right now; actually, can we start a campaign to get this woman on the next season cycle of America's Next Top Model? She would put some of them other ladies to shame.)
We're probably going to see lots more of (no pun intended! No pun intended!) O'Shaughnessy in the future, because she loves modeling. Speaking to Fashionista about the first photo shoot she ever did for the AA brand in 2012, O'Shaughnessy had the following to say:
You know, I've read so many times that modeling is vapid at best. I found it to be engaging and creative. It requires energy and an ability to communicate without words.
I am telling you, it is all about the Smize! Don't quit!
