Man charged with murder of woman in Stirling after hair salon death

Murder charge: A 61-year-old man will appear in Stirling Sheriff Court on Thursday.


A man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a woman in Stirling on Saturday October 12.

Ahdieh Yazdanparast, 46, died in hospital from injuries she sustained in the blaze at Venus Hair and Beauty in Stirling.


A spokesman for Police Scotland said: 'The 61-year-old man is scheduled to appear at Stirling Sheriff Court tomorrow [Thursday].'


A man was also seriously injured in the fire, which started in the cellar of the Maxwell Street salon. The injured man was given first aid at the scene by two men until emergency services arrived, and both victims were taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital, in Larbert, for treatment.
