When she went blonde, Zosia Mamet told PEOPLE it was 'just for fun.' Now the hair chameleon has completely switched up her shade once again, and we wonder if it was another spur-of-the-moment decision, or if it's for a role. Regardless, it's a completely new, un-Shoshanna look for the Girls star.

The actress debuted her silverish-gray hue on the red carpet at the N.Y.C. premiere of A Most Violent Year, a total transformation from the platinum tresses she's been sporting. ( Kylie Jenner and Tori Spelling have recently experimented with gray shades, and we have a feeling more beauty risk-takers will join in soon.)

One mane move Mamet made that she's super-obsessed with: Her short cut.
'I love having short hair so much better than long hair,' she told PEOPLE in September. 'I had been long pretty much my whole life, and I always loved it until right before I cut it. If I turned over at night, I'd have to throw my hair [over] first, because it was so long that if I turned into it it would strangle me. Having short hair is just so easy.'
