New hair salon brings London vibe to Berkhamsted

A hairdresser is bringing a London vibe to Berkhamsted with his new High Street salon.

John Phillips previously worked as a stylist for famous hairdressing brand Vidal Sassoon where he also taught tricks of the trade.

He is joined at his new salon, which officially opened on Sunday and saw MP David Gauke attend the champagne launch, by colourist Lynda Elias, who comes from award-winning London salon Mahogany and City-based stylist Ben Harrison, who will be joining the team full time from January.

John, 24, who grew up in Hemel Hempstead, said: 'Berkhamsted is a lovely town and a lovely High Street. I think there is a clientele that we can definitely cater for.'

He said the salon's ethos is to take into account the needs of the client from the style that will suit him or her to what works best for their lifestyle.

'When someone comes into the salon we find out information about them and how they look after their hair,' said John. 'We will create a haircut that works for them.'

The salon is open six days a week - from 9am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday and 9am to 8pm from Wednesday to Friday.
