First the major cut. Then the bold color. That seems to be the mane maintenance path Jessica Simpson is currently following. The star spent some quality time with her colorist, the celeb-praised Rita Hazan, and decided to go back to her super-blonde days.

Simpson, 34, shared a hair change selfie on Instagram with Hazan at her side. She also showed herself mid dye-job, her head covered in bleach. 'Nothing like a Monday bleach out by one of my besties @ritahazan #vickycristinabarcelona,' the star, who has been a brunette and redhead in the past, captioned the above photo.

Hazan recently shared some of her Rita-isms (tips and tricks for healthy, lasting hair color), and it's no surprise Simpson and other celebrity clients feel so comfortable with the mane master. And while bleaching should only be left to the pros, Hazan says you don't have to worry about it damaging your hair.
'Don't be afraid of bleach,' she shared. 'I add oil, such as Phyto Huile, to the actual color when mixing it. I like doing this because it's easier on the hair. Then I use my Weekly Remedy conditioning treatment to keep the hair hydrated. I always do a conditioning treatment once the color is completed and use shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair to prevent damage.'
She continued, 'Good color stars with healthy hair. I tell my clients to shampoo, gloss, then condition when washing their hair. Look for shampoos and conditioners for color-treated hair because others can be stripping.'
