This time of year, many people keep things simple as their social calendars amp up majorly. Hair changes, home redecoration and, sigh, gym routines, often take a backseat to a busy schedule. Not so for Rosario Dawson and Brie Larson, who both stepped out on the red carpet Wednesday night rocking distinctly different looks.

First up, Rosario Dawson, the star of Chris Rock's Top Five, who never seems to sport the same hairstyle twice. Her latest cut incorporates the half-shave she's had for a couple years - but now she's taken the style even shorter.

The close-cropped portion gives a fresh angle to the asymmetrical bobs that are sweeping Hollywood these days, and though this may look like a tough cut to pull off, Dawson herself has said it's incredibly versatile. And we're not saying this was the reason behind the chop, but as a new mom, we imagine Dawson is busier than ever - so a more wash-and-go style can only be a good thing.

And then the traditionally sandy-blonde Brie Larson, who has been darkening her locks gradually for a few months now, debuted a deep chocolate hue at the N.Y.C. premiere of The Gambler. She brushed them back into a sleek ponytail but added a little fun via her ear cuff and huge grin - though who wouldn't be all smiles when standing next to Mark Wahlberg?
