SARASOTA -- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspect in an armed robbery at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday at Great Clips Hair Salon, 4772 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.
The suspect is described as a 6-foot white male, 175 pounds, in his mid-30s, muscular, last seen wearing gray cargo shorts, blue T-shirt, blue cap, black sneakers and a blue baseball batting glove on the left hand.
He was armed with a black handgun, according to the report.
The suspect entered the salon and displayed a black handgun to an employes demanding money from the cash register, according to the report. He took the money and fled northbound on foot, according to the report.
A Sarasota County Sheriff's Office canine unit and helicopter AIR1 could not locate the suspect.
