WORKING as a make-up artist, Sophie Cammish is used to making other women look beautiful for the camera.
Now, Sophie's eye for beauty and fashion, along with her unique style, has catapulted her into the spotlight as one of the faces of a national beauty campaign.
Sophie, of Hull, has been chosen for Selfridges & Co Beauty Project, an advertising campaign that aims to represent all definitions of beauty.
The campaign is the work of renowned photographer and film-maker Norbert Shoerner.
Sophie, 22, said: 'I was shocked when Selfridges told me I had been chosen as one of the final eight faces for the campaign, especially as they had interviewed more than 1,000 people.
'I went down to London for the photo shoot, which was just amazing and so professional.
'There is now a 10ft picture of my face in the Selfridges store in Oxford Street, as well as in the stores in Manchester and Birmingham - it's crazy.'
Sophie, an account manager for Artdeco at the Debenham's store in Ferensway, signed to a modelling agency a year and a half ago to pursue her hobby.
It was through the modelling agency that the Selfridges team found Sophie to tell her about the casting call for their beauty campaign.
Sophie said: 'I had a few friends who were studying photography at university and college and they asked me to be a model for a project.
'I really enjoyed it and things went from there.
'When the agency told me about the casting call for Selfridges, I was so excited.
'I went for the press shoot and I got to try on some amazing designer clothes - I felt like a celebrity.'
The Beauty Project features eight models, both men and women aged 20 to 71 and aims to capture beauty in all shapes and sizes.
The campaign will run for six weeks and includes pioneering talks, interactive debates and beauty demonstrations.
Sophie believes she was chosen as a finalist due to her unique style.
The former Wolfreton School pupil said: 'The panel wanted a variety of races, ages and looks for the campaign.
'My style is quite different. I like to look unique and I think my blue hair really makes me stand out.
'At the interview we were all asked to give our own definition of beauty.
'I believe beauty is a combination of qualities, some seen, some felt - though not all that is beautiful can be redeemed by the eyes.'
Sophie is keen to continue with her modelling, but she admits she still wants to focus on her career as a make-up artist.
She said: 'I do see modelling as a hobby more than anything.
'At the moment, I really want to pursue my make-up career as well as my plans to design clothing and jewellery.
'It has been a really exciting time for me and I hope it continues.'
