Sarah Jessica Parker famously got to keep all of her character Carrie Bradshaw's clothes on Sex and the City-which is funny because I think they have totally different styles. Allow this hairstyle she wore out yesterday to promote her new shoe line for Nordstrom to make my point:
This high, perky half-ponytail is sweet, classic, and girlie-very Sarah Jessica. Carrie's style, on the otherhand, was a little trendier with a lot of contrast to make big statements. If this had been her character's hairstyle, the ponytail a would be lower down on her head-in fact, it would be straight back-and it would be pulled very tight or her curls would be fluffed up to be extra-voluminous on the bottom ( like it was in season six here) to create lots of dramatic texture.
In short, this is not the hairstyle of a woman who wore a fashion tutu out in the streets of Manhattan (or any of these other crazy outfits), this is a look of a chic, lovely lady who leans towards the ultra-feminine in a grown-up way. In other words, it's all Sarah Jessica Parker.
