HAIR and beauty students will soon be able to practise their skills at a new nail bar and make-up salon.
The facilities are due to open at Buxton and Leek College in September to coincide with the launch of two new courses.
They will be based at the campus off Stockwell Street, Leek, where there is already a commercial hair salon.
Members of the public will be able to book a pampering session or get their nails done by the trainees.
The new courses on offer to students include advanced diplomas in nails and theatrical make-up.
For the make-up qualification, they will be learning a variety of special effects, such as casualty simulation, casting, sculpting, creative design and prosthetic manufacture.
Students can also show off their creations through a partnership with a theatre in Derby.
Programme co-ordinator Lorraine Hale said: 'During both new training programmes, students will also be able to participate in our annual hair and beauty show.'
